Three months of doing various at-home exercise videos on YouTube 5x/week didn’t accomplish much of anything.  Six weeks with Amy and I’m seeing results and feeling better than I’ve felt in years.


I am blown away by the quality of the service I’ve received from Elite and by the results I’ve seen in just 6 weeks of VIRTUAL training with Amy! It’s clear that these folks care – about the quality of service they provide and about their clients. From the first session with Dave, who laid out for me how virtual training would work, to the review of my medical / previous injury history, my diet and eating habits, my sleeping patterns, and my own personal goals, to the supplement regimen that Dave recommended (catered to me!), I felt cared for and supported every step of the way.


I was a bit skeptical at first about training virtually…I had very little equipment of my own and I worried about how well this could work, not being there in person. Turns out, Elite really makes virtual training WORK. They sent me a bag of equipment to use at home:  over-the-door resistance bands, sliders, mini-resistance band loops, a foam balance block, push-up bars, TRX-style suspension straps, a yoga mat and even a tripod for my phone!  All I had to do was get a few dumbbells.


Amy has been a fantastic, supportive trainer.  She encourages, challenges, and motivates me. Most importantly, she clearly knows her stuff and has a real gift for communicating how to correct form and make physical adjustments – not an easy task, over Zoom, but she nails it. She’s always watching, giving me feedback and asking me questions. Training with her is really fun and I look forward to every session.  


The best part?  In 6 weeks (training 3x/week) I have made progress I never would have thought possible in such a short amount of time:  I’ve increased my plank hold from ~1 min to 4 min. + 24 sec!!!!  I’ve dropped nearly 10 pounds…I’ve gone from being able to do ZERO “real” pushups to doing 3 sets of 7!  I feel strong and stable, I’m sleeping better and feel more alert when I wake up, and I can see muscles starting to emerge in places where there hasn’t been anything for a long time.  :)


If you’re feeling iffy about virtual training, I’m here to tell you it works!  At 50 years old, I cannot believe the positive changes that have taken place so quickly!  I couldn’t be happier or more grateful for this opportunity to be in such great hands and to have an entire program catered to my body, my abilities, my health and my goals.  Thank you Amy, Dave and Elite!

For anyone who has doubts about virtual training, I’d like to assure you that it can be done and done well.  I do not drive, and even if I did, the two-hour distance each way would be prohibitive. Thank God that EPT offers a virtual option.

Virtual training with Lynette Jernigan has been a blessing in a myriad of ways. Due to my age, sedentary lifestyle, and chronic pain issues, I was hesitant to try training this way. Frankly, I just didn’t think it would work. Wrong. If you are on the fence about virtual training, I encourage you to give it a try.

After a thorough initial exam with Dr. Dave, I received a kit loaded with all kinds of products like resistance bands, sliders and even a yoga mat. I live in a tiny trailer and train in my kitchen. Not ideal, but it is working for me and I’m steadily progressing. As the saying goes, where there’s a will, there’s a way.

EPT trainers do everything they can to help a client succeed. In my case, Lynette constantly adjusts my exercises and provides feedback on my form. I feel challenged, but not overwhelmed. We are a team. With her sound guidance, I have made substantial improvements in strength, balance and coordination. Because she is also certified in functional nutrition, I have great input on diet as well as exercise.

Part of being a good trainer is listening and caring. Obviously, you must be well versed in anatomy and physiology, but Lynette also excels in encouraging and motivating me. Her positive attitude and pep talks have made a big difference in my life.

In addition to Lynette, I’ve met the entire staff at EPT. They are great people to work with. Whether you are training in person or virtually, you will be in excellent hands. If you’re looking for exceptional training, please give EPT a call.


After needing spinal fusion surgery at 50 I was very concerned that I wouldn't get back to the high level of activity I enjoy. Physical therapy after surgery only takes you so far. With the help of Amy and Dave at Elite, I can honestly say that I am pain free and stronger than I ever have been. I'm biking, hiking, running and feel GREAT. At 78 and after a knee replacement, shoulder reversals… the list is long, but I was suddenly afraid to go back to a gym where I could get hurt out of stupidity. The people who work at gyms are good but had no clue what to do with me.

I started working out again in my early 30’s. I was always athletic and played a lot of sports growing up.  After college and working full time, working out and physical activity decreased exponentially.  Working out with Joel and Elite really helped me get back into working out. With a heavy workload, a new house, and a new baby at home, working out seemed like an afterthought.  Elite was able to set me up with a home workout that is done virtually and gave me a little kit with some gear. I have always been active, and for the most part worked out regularly. Covid threw a monkey wrench into my early morning gym routine, so I bought a Peloton Bike. My historic focus has always been on cardio, figuring that if I was sweating that had to be a good thing. The bike is great for that, but being in my 60's I knew that I needed more. In the past, when I would incorporate weight training into my routine I always ended up hurting myself at some point since I was not doing things quite right. I started working out at Elite going on five months ago and it has been a great experience. Now when we're doing strength training I know that I'm being instructed on the correct way to do the exercise. Plus, I don't have to plan out anything. I just show up and do what they tell me to do. I've been introduced to core and balance exercises that I never knew existed. Just when you've gotten the hang of one exercise the trainer introduces a "progression" that adds more difficulty to the move, so you are always moving upward. The upfront evaluation and ongoing testing provides both a "base line" of your fitness and feedback on your progress. The Trainers are all knowledgeable and friendly as well. Lastly, when you're working out on your own it's easy to skip a day, but knowing that you have someone that is counting on you to show up is extra motivation each and every time. My attitude is that there are 24 hours in each day, so why not take a single hour 2-3 days a week and do something good for yourself, and there is no better place to do that than at Elite.

15 years ago, I retired from the USAF and changed from a very active lifestyle to a very sedentary one. Now at 60 years old, I’ve paid the price. At my heaviest, I was 60 lbs. more than when I retired. Lots of aches and pains due to old injuries and arthritis. Coach Tunde is an excellent trainer.  As a credential, he holds a BS in exercise physiology and is professionally certified to train. His professional experience is varied; he has worked with all ages, from high school students up through geriatric persons whose skills have not kept up with their ages.


Coach Tunde has worked with me, an older person, to help with aging issues.  He has worked with my balance, helping me to rise and stand up from a low sitting position, and to step up and to step down in different situations.  These mobility and motion tasks become more difficult as one ages. He has helped me with my posture, helped me to stand erect and upright, and to avoid slouching. He has worked with me on my stride and gait in walking. Coach Tunde is a very close observer of the body in motion and has helped identify different areas of activity where improvement is possible for me. Overall, Coach Tunde is versatile, thoughtful, observant and able to provide exercise solutions to solve problems. I have personally benefited greatly from his help.

I am 40 years old and starting to go down the wrong path with my health. With being overweight and developing high blood pressure my health wasn’t looking too hot.

I was received an evaluation with the InBody. WOW, this InBody machine gives you so much information about what your body is actually composed of!

They then sat down and went over the results thoroughly and explained everything to me. All my questions were answered.


I set goals for myself, and I am looking forward to the next assessment to see the difference. I want to feel good and look good and be there for my family.

Personal training with Dr. Dave has literally been life altering! I am in my early 60s and was becoming frustrated. I played multiple sports in high school and college and continued playing recreationally. However, I found myself starting to “wind down”. My fitness level had deteriorated, I could no longer run, I had gained weight and would frequently get injured. I was at the point where I reluctantly was about to accept my fate and stop playing basketball.

I had a neck and knee injury which connected me with Dr. Dave for rehabilitation. After my physical therapy, we started intensive personal training three times a week.


Our first visit was a comprehensive evaluation followed by mutual goal setting and then a prescribed individual program. We have been training together three times a week and the results have been amazing! I have lost weight, improved my fitness levels tremendously, gained flexibility, improved muscular strength (especially my core) and can run again. Perhaps most importantly, I have resumed playing competitive basketball.

I injured my left knee so I was looking for a nearby facility that offered strength training with a physical therapy focus. I played sports in high school and college and have been active all of my life. I am now in my early 60s and more recently began feeling the effects of not eating well and not exercising regularly. A friend of mine, who trains at Elite Personal and Fitness Solutions in Huntington Valley, recommended that I start training there too. I was interested based on his recommendation but was reluctant since I live 45-60 minutes away. Several months ago, I decide to give it a try and see if it was worth the long drive. My health and weight problems are being improved as I am constantly challenged in every training session. As I mentioned, I played many sports and exercised throughout my life but I never experienced anything like this type of training. My training includes a variety of functional exercises that are progressed and monitored with emphasis on safety while producing maximal results.

At the suggestion of a good friend, I setup an evaluation appointment with Dave Trumbore of Elite
Personal Training. I had something in mind for my physical health for some time but had not followed up
on it before my friend nudged me; I could see that he had benefited from his Elite training. That
evaluation ten months ago started me on my beneficial path with Elite.
Dave looked me over then quizzed me on my health goals. For me these were simple: work to physically
feel like I did in the past without hurting myself. Sounds simple. I had idea how to do it on my own. Dave
gave me a personal, individual, plan to me get there. Not being overweight helped me. Being out of shape from neglect did not. Dave’s plan addressed the later with hourly guided workouts three times a week. He plans each of my hours with his knowledge of what to do at each point in the sessions. He is there with me the entire time to direct and encourage me, while assuring that I will not be injured. Each hour is a complete challenge with constant direction and feedback. He intersperses helpful comments about diet and eating habits – things that I was aware of but never thought much about before. Dave also encouraged me to try the evening Yoga stretching classes which have complemented the workout times. All in the friendly Elite Personal Training team has guided me to be fitter again. I feel like my old self. It has taken me hours of work to get here with Dave as my leader. I would never have done it alone. If you want a personal way to safely workout for your physical health, the team at Elite Personal Training is a great way to do it.


I started out @ Elite Personal Training as an in-person training. After 9 months, I moved to Virginia and began a virtual training program. I thought virtual would not be as good as in-person but I have to say that Jon, my trainer, works me just as hard as if I was in the Elite gym..I lost weight, trimmed down my waist. But most importantly my doctor took me off a blood pressure medicine as my blood pressure was down. She also took me off my low dose cholesterol medicine. I am 72 years old and exercising hard 3x a week with Jon...I lift heavy weights, use heavy bands and an able to do a 5minute plank..I never thought I would be this strong and this fit at 72. Elite Personal training evaluates me every 8 weeks by measuring my major muscle groups, weighing me and giving me a flexibility and strength test. This shows me how much I am improving and is a great motivator. Elite Personal Training is keeping me young!!

I’ve been going to Elite Personal Training for a few months, Adriene has change my life. Before starting at Elite, I thought I would never be able to do some of the things I do now. I have degenerate disc disease and had three cervical fusion in my neck which caused me to need dozens of steroid injections. The injections caused me to gain weight rapidly and my ability to safely work out. I also had high blood pressure. I had to take blood pressure medication daily.

I no longer have High blood pressure nor do I require blood pressure medication. Since starting with Elite, I have not only been losing weight but I am stronger than I have ever been in my life. I have been working out my entire life but Amy has made me realize there’s more to just working on muscles and cardio. I’m 56 and she has me working on balance, eye hand coordination and everything in between. She is so in tune with what your specific body time needs are. I really love working out here. I train with Amy three days a week. I have always had an all or nothing attitude towards fitness, alternating between periods of being sedentary to overdoing it. This was ok until my 40s. I was getting heavier and less healthy from not exercising and pain and injuries from overexercising. I've been working out with Justin at Elite Personal Training and Fitness Solutions for three years. Initially, I joined to stay in shape and feel good, especially for an old guy. However, I recently went on a hiking trip to Canada and was worried about how challenging it might be. I quickly realized that all the hard work and training with Justin had paid off. I can’t say enough positive things about Elite. This place is amazing, full of positive energy, trainers who encourage, teach, and support whatever goals you have for yourself. My trainer Justin is the most energetic, talented, positive, upbeat trainer with a great sense of humor. Justin is my biggest cheerleader and is always encouraging me to do better. He keeps me motivated by changing up my workout plan every time we meet. I have been at Elite for almost 5 months and I have to say the results I am seeing in my physical appearance have given me more confidence in myself and the desire to train even harder. Justin allows me to push myself at every workout as hard as I can and is constantly watching for proper form to decrease the potential for injury. He is in tune with my energy level and adjusts my workout accordingly to makes sure every exercise is done properly. Every few months you will be re-evaluated to see how much progress you have made. A few days ago during my re-evaluation, all the trainers, and clients who were there, were cheering me on to hold a plank as long as I could and not to give up. I surpassed my previous 5 minute plank hold time to a new time of 6 minutes and 5 seconds. (Not too bad for a woman of my age). Thank you Justin for helping me attain my goals and surpass other goals! You and I have been continually raising the bar on my goals and I am meeting them. I could not have done this without you. Historically, I have had difficulty maintaining a consistent exercise routine. Although I was fairly active and looked moderately fit, I never truly enjoyed working out and never fully incorporated it into my lifestyle. When I would become unhappy with how I looked, I would force myself to work out, whip myself into shape over a period of months, and then lose interest and motivation until the cycle repeated itself, over and over. With age, this process took longer and became less effective each time.


An unexpected medical issue a few years ago left me with symptoms that severely limited my activity level even further. I got to a point where I didn’t recognize myself when I looked in the mirror and didn’t feel comfortable in my own skin. I knew I needed to do something, but I didn’t know what. I was fully aware that my old workouts and exercise habits weren’t going to cut it. Elite was the solution to that dilemma.

My initial fear of the unknown was alleviated by the professional, thorough, comprehensive evaluation process at Elite. I felt reassured that I was at the right place with the right people. On my very first day of training with Zack, my feelings of apprehension and embarrassment were quickly eased by his positive, upbeat, non-judgmental demeanor. He made me believe I wasn’t as bad off as I thought and I was totally capable of achieving my health and fitness goals, which inspired me to want to come back.


Zack developed a training program tailored specifically to me and my goals and introduces new elements on a regular basis. His educational background and excellent credentials instill confidence, and are clearly evident when he explains the rationale, target, and proper form for every exercise. He consistently asks how I’m feeling to make sure I’m not underworking, overworking, or risking injury. He keeps a record of everything and is able to point out every bit of progress I’ve made. Most importantly, he challenges, encourages, and motivates me every single time we train. As a bonus, he also has a pleasant personality, an enjoyable sense of humor, and good taste in music. Now that I’ve been training 3 days a week for over a month, I can honestly say that Zack has gone from making a good first impression to being one of my favorite people, and has proven himself to be a trustworthy, reliable, truly elite trainer.

There’s a big difference between exercising at home or a gym and personal training. In a short time, I am already feeling stronger, more tone, more energetic, and more positive about myself. Thanks to Zack and Elite, I actually enjoy and look forward to working out now, which makes me think I just might finally be able to break that cycle and turn health and fitness into a sustainable priority. After years of being very active, I was unable to do the things I used to be able to do as a result of multiple knee injuries. I continued to be unhappy with my limited mobility, flexibility, core strength, overall malaise and decided to pursue what turns out to be a “life-changing decision” - I started personal training and nutrition with Elite.

My goal was to reduce the ongoing knee pain, increase core strength and flexibility. After several months of targeted training with Adriene, not only have I dramatically increase my core strength and flexibility, but also my balance and mental acuity. Zack Younis is a very knowledgeable trainer with a background in physical therapy, which for a middle-aged man was a bonus, allowing an out-of-shape 48yr old man to get back into shape and never injured
myself in the process.  He has a great ability to support and provide a strategy to achieve whatever his
client is looking to achieve. He then executes the plan in a great balance of pushing his clients further
than they would believe they’re capable, but always in a safe and careful environment. He is also very
good about making suggestions but never pressures you.  When we first started, he offered a meal
plan/nutritional package if I wanted.  Being over 50 lbs overweight at the time, I declined and he never
pressured me. It wasn’t until 3 yrs later when I was ready to change what I ate, I told Zack I was ready
and 10 months later, with his encouragement and support, I had achieved my goal of losing 50lbs. Elite Personal Training and Fitness Solutions is lucky to have him and his future clients are even luckier to
have the opportunity of working with Zack.

Dr. Dave and his staff of trainers are so far above the standard fitness center personal trainers, it's basically an entirely different thing. This is challenging training, but with the sophistication of physical therapy, individual plans, and decades of experience. Here is one to put into your success notes.


Today is my 66th birthday. I took this as a challenge. To start the day with a warm-up, I took a barre class. I then set out to do 66 of the things we have worked on. 66 push ups, sit ups, pull ups, 66 second plank, etc. I pulled it off in about 30 minutes. All weren’t difficult except for the pull ups. For them I had to break them into sets like we do — and then rest . Between sets I did the other exercises for about 5 minutes.


Now… will I need 66 hours to recover….


Thanks for teaching and guiding me. Without you I couldn’t have done this or even tried!

I was a little skeptical about whether there was any room for change to my body composition and level of fitness because I am already an active person who works out frequently.  However, in just two months, I have seen muscles I never before knew existed, and I have grown in the areas I wanted to grow, and shrank in the areas I wanted to shrink.  How do I know this?  At elite, they take measurements, look at your progress and give you an in-depth look at your health in order to measure your progress and keep an eye on what to work on, and what to be mindful of, all based on the individual's needs. Once forced to stay at home, I attempted to maintain a fairly stable routine on my own. Then, Amy reached out to me offering her services. I hesitated at first but am SOOOO glad I acted on it. I cannot love and recommend this office any more than I already do. I appreciate the positivity, hard work, and the ethical and moral values these guys have. They are not here to misguide you. I have been through multiple personal trainers at different gyms prior to this and always felt like my trainers were not listening to me and what my goals were. I have changed trainers over the years and that didn’t change much. Personal training at a physical therapy office is not like personal training at a gym. I have had to go through physical therapy off and on due to bulging disc issues after having my first child and would never go to anyone other than Dr. Trumbore. Following up after therapy, I started personal training with Adriene and for the first time I have a trainer who is interested in my goals and is training me accordingly. I am 21 weeks pregnant and he modifies my plan as needed as my pregnancy is progressing. He explains the reasoning behind each exercise and why we are doing it and how it helps my particular situation, which I love because I have a better understanding of what we are doing. He is very encouraging. There are days I walks in to my session dragging my feet because of extreme exhaustion, but I always feel great when I start exercising with Adriene. We listen to great music. The environment is very relaxing unlike being at a gym. Now especially with the pandemic I feel comfortable going here because he is constantly wiping down surfaces that I touch. We both wear masks and I know they take all the precautions they can take to keep their clients protected. If you are looking to get something out of your time, money and effort call them! You will not regret it.

I am a 30 something physical therapist who had undergone knee surgery which required me to be non-weight bearing on that limb for over a month. I lost considerable amount of strength in my leg muscles and needed rehabilitation in order to return to work with my patients safely and pain free. I expected to perform the same old same old quad strengthening exercises, maybe some muscle stimulation treatments, but received much more. I also was working towards my black belt in karate and needed to regain total body conditioning to return to those workouts. Dave worked me hard but with such an innovated routine I looked forward to what his creative mind would come up with next. He got my quads back firing and had me doing core strengthening that truly changed my shape and workout routines to this day. I am pain free and stronger than ever. I am a 35 year- old nurse, and a mother of three children. One year ago, I had varicose vein surgery. As a result of a doctor's mistake, my peroneal nerve which supplies function to my leg and foot was severed. I now have to wear a brace on my leg to be able to walk.
